A TRADITION OF QUALITY AND RELIABILITYoutside.jpg (40116 bytes)
The Winsted Precision Ball Company was founded in 1949 with the sole purpose of manufacturing high- precision balls for the use in miniature precision ball bearings.

Today, we still manufacture high-precision bearing balls to super-critical tolerances. But now we also offer an expanding line of balls available in a wide range of materials and sizes for use in a virtually limitless number of applications. After nearly five decades of quality manufacturing history, we are recognized as one of the leading manufacturers of ABMA (American Bearing Manufacturer's Association) Grade 3, 5, and 10 balls in the U.S..

MAKING A HIGH-PRECISION BALL
Winsted Precision makes balls from chrome alloy steels, stainless steels, ceramics and glass. We will also manufacture custom balls to your specifications. The company is a qualified U.S. source of M-50 balls for jet aircraft engine bearings.

We use only the finest grade materials, and institute rigorous quality controls through each phase of production. Finally, we subject finished balls to an unparalleled inspection process that ensures only balls of the highest integrity will be shipped. Our diligence has paid off. Because of this manufacturing philosophy we have earned a well-deserved reputation for quality in the industry.

Since making precision balls is our only business, we have been able to focus our resources on acquiring only the most advanced manufacturing tools, technology, measurement instrumentation and test equipment. A dedicated and skilled staff ensure consistent quality and excellence in all phases of our operation.

WORKING WITH WINSTED PRECISION BALL
We won't rest until we become the preferred supplier of high-precision balls to all who require excellence in component parts. From the selection of the finest materials, through manufacturing, testing, and adherence to rigid quality standards, our goal will always be to find ways of making the best balls possible.

MATERIALS
Some of the materials used in ball manufacturing - and typical applications - include:

TIC BALLS
One option to consider when enhanced ball performance is a concern is titanium carbide coated (or TiC) balls. TiC balls typically offer the advantages of longer service life, reduced friction and wear, and lower rates of lubricant degradation. Titanium carbide coatings, when applied to a stainless steel substrate, are extremely hard and are resistant to corrosive attack. Ask your Winsted customer service representative if TiC balls might be appropriate for your application.
